About the role
Cheba Hut Shift Leaders run the floor. You’ll supervise the crew during your shifts and set the tone for food quality, food safety, cleanliness, and customer experience, all while coaching your team to be their best. You’ll report to the General Manager and work closely with the Assistant General Manager.

What you’ll do
- Uphold the “Big 4”: atmosphere, cleanliness, interaction, and product quality. Be a thermostat, not a thermometer.
- Lead, motivate, and coach the crew through recognition and accountability, working shoulder to shoulder.
- Run a smooth shift: complete the Battle Plan, get “aces in their places,” and call audibles when it’s busy or short-staffed.
- Keep food safe and fresh: write prep and stock lists to PARs, complete line checks, follow F.I.F.O., and keep the waste log.
- Make sure orders are accurate and meet Cheba Hut ticket times.
- Hit SPMH and labor targets.
- Hold everyone to the same standard, with no favorites and no silent approval, and keep shop leadership in the loop.
What we’re looking for
- Previous shift lead, key holder, or restaurant leadership experience preferred
- A shop-first, customer-first mindset, with integrity and self-direction
- Strong communication skills, including the hard conversations
- Ability to juggle priorities and stay calm under pressure
- State-required food safety certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to lift 47 lbs, stand up to 10 hours, and work shifts up to 10 hours
- Comfortable with a cannabis-themed culture

Compensation: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
Cheba Hut is a “Toasted” sub concept that has been curing munchies since its start in 1998. Founder Scott Jennings decided to showcase the harmony between great tasting food and … well, a very specific counter-culture. The menu features signature sub sandwiches, as well as a variety of Rice Krispy treats, salads, and munchies. Most locations also offer bars featuring local beers from neighborhood breweries and a variety of Cottonmouth Cures.
